This fall she twirled in 5 half time shows, and 14 parades total for both
bands! She has had a terrific, yet very busy fall performing for both
bands. Catherine also had "the time of her

Bravo to TU on their November 2006 article about Respect ....Coaches
should not solicite students of other coaches. Some offenders promise
they can make your daughter a National Champion and that your present coach is
not developing the student's true potential. Existing, young, or new
teachers please explore fresh territory and develope a program of your own to
make twirling grow.
On November 8, 2006, 10 time national DMA baton twirling champion, Lexie
King from the East Brainerd community was invited to perform in a private
ceremony for the United States Navy Blue Angels. Lexie and her family

the Crew just outside of the famous Blue Angel Hanger following their flight
demonstration practice on Wednesday morning of that week. Lexie is 10 years

Details
- The application, resume, and
video: The video recording must be in VHS or DVD format and contain a clear

- Finalists will be mailed a recording of three compositions recorded by the

choreographing routines to each work. (Please choreograph the three
compositions into 1 continuous routine—e.g., a halftime performance—in which
each song follows one another and equipment is placed in the correct position
for quick and innovative retrievals during the routine). We request that
the routines for the first and third works ONLY use batons and all extra
(trick) equipment be used in the second routine. The Directors of the
Longhorn Band and one outside expert will adjudicate the finalists. The
performances will be judged on creativity, technique, poise, confidence, and
execution.
- Interview: Following all performances, each finalist will have a 15-minute
interview with the Directors. Questions in the interview will revolve
around the candidates’ philosophy, personal traits and integrity, work ethic,
