Joy Kenerly Opens Kenerly Kreations Inc.
Sept 2006 Joy Bland Kenerly opened Kenerly Kreations, Inc. in September 2006 after more than two decades of designing custom costuming. A former NBTA competition twirler , University of Georgia majorette, and twirling instructor, Joy has been involved with twirling and costuming since her childhood. She credits her lifelong love of costume design and fabrication to her grandmother, the late Elouise Hyers, who cut patterns out of newspaper, sewed, and created every twirling costume Joy ever wore. Joy graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and worked in television news for over a decade. She is married to Dr. J. Lex Kenerly, III, and the couple has four children, John Lex, Adeline, Jameson, and Asher. Joy has attended America’s Youth on Parade national twirling competition at the University of Notre Dame for thirteen years. Her daughters, Adeline and Jameson Kenerly, currently compete in twirling competitions across the country. After great encouragement and support from her husband and after much prayer, Joy is excited to make her dream a reality and open her custom costume manufacturing business in her hometown, Jesup, Georgia.
